Jack-O-Lantern Cut-out

Halloween is only a week away! Are you looking for a fun, easy project to do with your students? Then we have the perfect thing for you. Our Jack-O-Lantern cut-out is great for young students!

Take our image and print it out to give to your students. Students can then color their pumpkin and draw whatever face they want on it. It can be scary or silly, it doesn’t matter. Students may then cut out their pumpkins and will have a fun Halloween decoration. These are fun to let students take home, or even hang around your classroom.

This is a great last minute activity because it takes so little preparation. It’s a great activity for restless students who are excited for the approaching holiday.

Father's Day Printable!

Hello again, readers! Father’s Day is approaching, and along with it, the end of the school year. Since the school year is nearly over, you may not have enough time to put together a large craft. After all, there’s locker cleanouts, final assignments, assemblies, and all sorts of things that come with the ending of a school year. Gathering supplies and finding time to work in another craft simply isn’t always possible.

That’s why we at TeachersSquare.com have created this simple printable for you to give to your students! It doesn’t even have to be cut out. Simply follow the link, print the item, and hand it out to your students!

The printable is of a classic father item…a tie! Above the tie are the words “What I Like About My Dad!” On the tie are lines for students to write their answers on.

This is perfect for better time management at the end of a busy year. The project requires little preparation and no cleanup. It also stops dads from feeling left out. Students have plenty of time during school to make something for Mother’s Day, but due to the timing of Father’s Day, dads don’t always get a handmade gift. Now they can.

If desired, students can color in the tie before writing their answers in the provided lines. This simple activity will make dad’s feel special without making a time crunch for you.

Craft: Memorial Day Handprint Wreath

Memorial Day is fast approaching, and so we’ve put together this fun Memorial Day craft to do with your students. Do it before Memorial Weekend so students have a fun decoration for the day.

Students will have a blast using their handprints to make this great decoration. By using their own handprints, this craft is truly unique to each student!

These are the supplies required for the craft. It is likely they are already in your classroom. If not, the links go straight to the products on our website.

Memorial Day Wreath

Amid the crafts and excitement as a long weekend approaches, don’t forget to teach your students the meaning of Memorial Day. We often get caught up in family activities while enjoying the day, and forget to think hard about what the holiday means. Your students should know what the day is there to honor.

Memorial Day is a day to remember all those soldiers who died to protect our freedom. It is a day to respect the armed forces. Encourage your students to take some time to think about any family they have that are in the service or used to serve. If they have no family in the service, have them think about historical figures that served instead. 

Ask students what they’re doing for Memorial Day. Maybe even give them a list of activities they could do to pay their respects, such as attending a parade, making cards to send to soldiers, or calling family members in the service.

Have fun with the holiday, but don’t lose sight of the meaning behind it. Enjoy the three day weekend and during it, take a moment to reflect on our armed forces yourself.
